Tigelle

This ancient, round-shaped mountain bread is made from a skillful mixture of flour, water, and salt. Tigella is a simple flatbread of Latin origin, typical of the Modena province. The mountain tradition then spread to the valleys, becoming increasingly popular partly due to the possibility of storing the crescentine and heating them up at the time of consumption. Today, crescentine, with their simple flavor and characteristic fragrance of freshly baked bread, have become the ideal and delicious accompaniment to rustic dishes of cured meats and cheeses. Traditionally, they are consumed warm, cut in half and filled with pesto, which is a mixture of lard, garlic, rosemary, and grated Parmigiano Reggiano. They can also be enjoyed with any type of cured meat and soft cheese, and they pair wonderfully with game sauces and even, as a dessert, with jam or cocoa and hazelnut cream. Due to their simplicity and wholesomeness, they are considered a nutritious and digestible food. • Instructions for use: It is recommended to heat the product in a toaster or oven at 220°C for 2/3 minutes. It is consumed by cutting it in half, filled with a mixture of pancetta, garlic, rosemary, and grated Parmigiano Reggiano. It is also excellent accompanied by cured meats, soft cheeses, and game.
